Q: What significant event or events happened in the week of
... May 20, 2002 regarding NY?
Greets all,
In a discussion group the Editor belongs to, the above question [pp] was posed.
The editor offered this response:
A very significant thing did happen in the state of NY this week.
KOSHER LAWS UNCONSTITUTIONAL
By DEVLIN BARRETT
May 22, 2002 -- A federal appeals court yesterday spat out New York State's
kosher laws, saying they violate the constitution by using the state to promote religion.
The reason this is significant is that the state of NY has the largest Jewish population
outside Eratz Israel. The state of NY also has the largest specifically
Lubbovitcher Orthodox population outside Eratz Israel. Lubbovitchers are the
ultra-Orthodox 'brand' or 'flavor' if you will, who are fervently looking for Messiah.
No other population of Jews is so similar to believers in my !opinion!.
Historicaly the Jews in NY have enjoyed being 'left alone' to pursue their own
religious and spiritual practices, without interference from the gov't.
This change in state policy constitutes interference from the gov't.
Freedom of religion is not
absolutely equal to
freedom from religion, gramtically or constitutionally.
There you have it. When we watch Israel as a people and something
significant occurs in their (natural) world, the scriptural rule
(or precedent) is we are about to see the same thing in the spiritual realm.
Watch for another application of the 'rod' of correction
to be made manifest, shortly. The L*rd's arm is not too
short to perform His Word.
